Iowa has some great "B" roads..
I realized I need shorter tires or better gearing. Pita isn't a pavement queen.

I'm on 35s with stock 4.60 gears. If I drop back to 33s I could be happy for a while. I'd love to find a 4 banger X in a U-Pull yard. Those had 4.90 gears.
Ultimately I want to ditch the IFS for a live axle and leaf springs. Then I'd be happy.
For a while.

Nice Xterra. One doesn't often see them kitted out for proper off-road duty, at least, not around here. I've always liked the look.

My only wish is that I could have found a Supercharged one with the 5 speed. It was tough enough finding a NA version with a stick in good nick so I compromised.
It's funny that they aren't that popular. They're built pretty stout and had great gearing stock (4.9:1 for four bangers and 4.6:1 on the six).
